The name game

So a typical tuesday morning, get up check the papers, and lo and behold something else to talk about.
It seems our government has lost it(not that they ever had it but more so than usual).
The story starts in rural Haryana where the khap panchayat has decided that inter-gotra(same lineage) is forbidden. The government tried to intervene but was told that they are interfering in a caste matter. As soon as these magic words were used the government backtracked, as it always does when caste matters come to the fore.
The government treats the caste issue as some political hot potato something that is always meant to be handled with gloves and if possible put out of sight as fast as possible.
This is the 21st century and all the talk about india becoming a superpower is total and utter b.s. How do we expect to become a super power when we still have hangups for what our ancestors did over a hundred years ago???
All i can say i feel sorry for all the singhs of the country cause if those village idiots manage to modify the hindu marriage act then legally two singhs will not be allowed to marry even if they live on two opposite ends of the country and are related because at some point in the past(well over 500+ years ago) some singh had 30 kids and they all went their seperate ways and never saw each other again.
